Today we are going to get our hands dirty and start writing some ActionScript. We will start with making a simple button. Then we will look at the code that is needed to get a connection to the Flash Media Server (FMS). And then we will add some text fields to the button and get a simple chat application going.

Today we will do all of this from scratch so you get a chance to see what it is like. Save these files we work on. We will use them as starting points for other things we do in class.
